Ride-to-School “Outing” with the Vespa Club

Is the word "outing" still being used now Didi? hehehe. Bahala na :)

This morning, me and the kids tagged along with Mark and his Vespa Club buddies to Laguna.
Today was their 2nd Ride-to-School Program where they’d be donating bags to a school there.

Here’s the loot inside the bags carefully chosen by Vespa club president, Uriel Protomartir:

We don’t always tag along with Mark on his vespa club trips but I wanted the kids to be part of this. I wanted them to experience giving to others and to be grateful for what they have.

They weren’t able to physically give the bags to the kids because the teachers had to check to whom to give the bags to, but they were able to help the vespa club boys pack the school bags :)

The people from the Puypuy Elementary school were really sweet. They fixed up a short program as thank you for the boys :)

With balagtasan pa presented by 3 of the students. Cute :) They also served us merienda of sopas and water afterwards :)

In less than an hour, everything was done ;) We then headed to Forest Club Eco Camp, owned by the family of vespa club member, Wawel Mercado.

As soon as they saw the pool, they kept pestering us on when they could swim already :) hehe. Excited. At first, I wasn’t too sure about letting them swim due to the weird weather, but when I found out that the water in the pool is fresh water from an underground hot spring, go na :)

Mati asked me if this was a rock or poop. Ayayay. Kids . . .

After a couple of minutes, tada! Ready to swim. But first, picture, picture . . .

They had a blast :) Daddy and Ate Kris accompanied them. I wasn’t feeling too well so I didn’t swim. The water looked really tempting though. . . .

Lunch was care of Wawel. It was the birthday of his wife, Mila and his brother, Miguel. Thank you Wawel for letting us share this special celebration with you and your family. Wasn’t able to take pictures though, cause I was busy feeding Adi.

After lunch we left the Mercado family to continue on with a more private celebration :)

The road home was like a scene from a Mario Bros. game. So many pipes!!! :)

The geothermal plant

Because we passed through the new roads, we were home by 4pm :) Tired but happy.

Baby Gab’s Playhouse

My friend Golda’s daughter Gabby got this cute playhouse for her 2nd birthday:

Because Little Tykes plastic playhouses are really expensive ( i think around P16,000),
they decided to just make one out of wood for baby Gab

The best thing about it is that it’s a team effort by the whole family :)

Handmade by lolo, painted & decorated by Golda and Gab’s tito and tita’s and
even baby Gab! How cool for a 2-year old to paint her own playhouse! :)

Aside from painting the house, they decorated it with Gabby’s name on the front door
( from Todd’s in Megamall, right?) a pinwheel on top & stickers from
SUGARNSPICE.

I bought some stickers from her while she was still living in China.
They’re really the cutest things and are now scattered around my house :)

Practical roofing choice. This semi transparent roof makes it brighter inside.

Here’s the sandbox detail from the right side of the house :)

This is actually nicer than any plastic playhouses :)

Door and window detail

Details of the inside of Gabby’s playhouse :)

So many windows! :) Golda says: "Gabby enjoys opening the doors and windows…locking
and unlocking the hook, and holding her momma prisoner most of the time
" hehehe

The back of the house can be converted from this:

Into a sari-sari store! Cute! :)

Gab sure is one lucky little girl :)

Because Kids are Expensive

Please vote for my entry! :)

I joined a threadless shirt design contest. The theme is the cartoon Phineus and Ferb,
which is a really funny and witty cartoon that me and the kids love (and Berly) ;)

I love how the P and F from their names in the main title looks like them :)
This gave me an idea on the design I wanted to make

Here’s my entry. Guess what my inspiration was? :)

Here’s what it will look like on a shirt:

Highest score to give is 5, which is what you should click! Please? :)

My Waistline’s Newest Problem

No it’s not Jude :) hehehe. Although I tend to order more than I should when he’s there.
(That’s not the only thing we ordered by the way)

Lately I’ve been losing weight from eating less rice, less food plus I’m eating more vegetables and
jogging (ok, more brisk walking. hehe) .

But because of certain events in my life, I’ve been doing some, as Ate Shaui would say, "emotional eating". hay

Anyway, I ate so much at Delicious Kitchen in Robinson’s Galleria!! Was able to resist ordering rice, but ate
pancit so parang ganun din! hahaha. Anyway, I’m craving for the food there again. I know it’s the
MSG but it’s really calling to me
. . . yummy!

Another recent craving is Happy Lemon!!! Didi’s fault! hahaha.

photo from animetric.blogspot.com

I ordered the cocoa with rock salt and cheese. I drank it down so fast I wasn’t able to take a photo.
Yummiest thing ever. Have to order this again sometime soon . . .

Aside from those cravings, whenever I go out with my family, we always eat a lot. I know they don’t force
food down my throat but it’s so hard to resist when the others are eating so much yummy things ;)
hehehe

Doesn’t help also that I’m staying at my mom’s place and she has a cabinet full of snacks! hihihi

Anyway, I’m getting hungry again so I think I’ll visit that snack cabinet now. . . . Cheetos . . . mmmm

Ideal vs Real

The ideal pirate: a funny, sexy Johnny Depp dressed like a rockstar.
Looks stinky but can’t smell him through the screen anyway so it’s ok.

The real pirate: a frowning Somali with a gun.

Jola’s Wizard of Oz Party

Recently, teacher Jola from Mati & Adi’s arts & crafts class threw the cutest themed party for her tita.

Here she is dressed as the Lion along with her cute son, Jacob the Scarecrow :)

All decor was made by or thought of by Jola. And to think she has a baby to take care of at the same time :)

Check out the tablecloth and table decor.

Table Details:
Dorothy’s house with the witches’ feet and ruby slippers sticking out from underneath
, and
the yellow brick road

Broom and pail of water

Ruby slippers made from paper. Love this! :)

the paper mache egg from the kids Easter party was transformed into a hot air balloon :)

Food Tables

The Emerald City Buffet Table set up. Brilliant use of green balloons

The candy and cupcake table

Munchkins!!! Brilliant!

Cute no? So creative. Jola, you’re the ultimate arts and crafts mom! I’m your fan :) hahaha

You Would Have Been 83 . . .

This time last year, you were still here. We greeted and kissed you in the morning.
And in the evening, we had a nice dinner.

It’s funny how people give flowers to someone who will never smell or see flowers again.
We still do anyway.

This is our greeting and kiss for you this year. Flowers on your grave.

We love you Amah. Happy Birthday.

Outdated Words

Almost every time I talk to my 21-year old cousin I feel super old.

Here’s a conversation I had with her:

Me: Ok ba getup ko?
Didi: Hahahaha. Getup! Loser! Outfit naman! hahaha

That made me feel like a:

Anyway, me and Reg with the help of Didi made a list of some words from our time and from
my parents time that make the kids snicker now :)

Favorite Songs and Theme Songs from Cartoons

Sometimes I find myself humming a tune. Then I remember it was from an old cartoon I used to watch.

Most are theme songs and some are songs from full length Disney movies.
